Society for Vascular Surgery

The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS), founded in 1947, seeks to advance excellence and innovation in vascular health through education, advocacy, research and public awareness. As the advocate for 2,400 vascular surgeons dedicated to the prevention and cure of vascular disease, SVS provides continuing medical education for vascular surgeons and advocates on behalf of vascular patients. The SVS’ charitable foundation, the American Vascular Association, promotes vascular disease research and supports career development for young vascular researchers.

SVS presents the premier annual meeting for vascular healthcare professionals in North America. The agenda includes scientific presentations from the work of top vascular surgeons, industry supported clinical symposia, and an extensive trade exhibition. More than 1,000 vascular health care professionals, including North America’s leading vascular surgeons, attend annually.

The SVS publishes the Journal of Vascular Surgery which provides vascular, cardiothoracic, and general surgeons with the most recent information in vascular surgery. Original, peer-reviewed articles cover clinical and experimental studies, noninvasive diagnostic techniques, processes and vascular substitutes, microvascular surgical techniques, angiography and endovascular management.
